POWDERED METALS<\/h1>\n

The act of taking a powdered metal, placing it in a mold then applying pressure is called powdered metallurgy. The finished good is then placed into an oven then baked to generate a homogenous mixture within the component in a process called sintering. Products such as gears and bushing are often produced in this manufacturing method.<\/p>\n

DisCom offers powdered metallurgy as part of our product repertoire as a low-cost high-value solution to our customers. Material can easily flow within the cavity of the mold prior to the pressing operation, making this process a prime candidate for high volume production runs on medium-complexity components.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
